A note on High-speed Rail

The CSX corridor along the Mississippi Gulf Coast is part of the proposed Gulf Coast High-speed Rail Corridor, with a goal of providing 110 MPH passenger rail service from Houston to Pensacola.  The ongoing studies for relocating the CSX corridor inland between Waveland and Moss Point would also include room for separate high-speed rail tracks.  My fantasy transit idea assumes that high-speed rail runs along a relocated CSX rail corridor, using Alignment 2, which would run just north of the urbanized area along the coast, with a high-speed rail station located where the line would cross US 49 near School Rd north of Lyman.  The high speed rail line would be connected to Gulfport via my fantasy Orange Grove Line, then to the rest of the Mississippi Gulf Coast via the Coast Line.
