Interstate 805 in the San Diego area

Interstate 805 is a north-south freeway in the San Diego area that serves as a loop freeway off of I-5, serving areas of San Diego east of I-5.  Except for the far southern end, the freeway has at least 8 through lanes between the border and CA 52, with several auxiliary lanes between adjacent interchanges.  An interesting feature of I-805 is a large and long viaduct at and just north of the I-8 interchange.  This viaduct carries I-805 over I-8, Mission Valley, and the San Diego River.

The first photoset sequences northbound I-805 from I-5 near the border north to CA 15.  These photos were taken by the webmaster on October 22, 2007.  Click on a thumbnail for a larger image.

The second photoset sequences southbound I-805 from I-5 in the Sorrento Valley south to Murray Ridge Rd (one exit north of I-8).  Some of these photos turned out slightly blurry or with poor contrast, a result of the rain showers I mentioned above.  These photos were taken by the webmaster on January 21, 2008.  Click on a thumbnail for a larger image.
