Business US 2 is one of only two Business routes in Minnesota that are on the state trunk highway system.  When the US 2 East Grand Forks bypass was constructed in 1964, its original route through East Grand Forks was renumbered MN 202.  MN 202 was dropped in favor of Business US 2 in 1968, and has been marked as such since.
