MN 298 used to end in a complete loop which was severed when the medium security unit of the Faribault State Prison (officially MCF-Faribault) was built; you can see the fence to the left in the photo. Buildings visable are parts the minimum security unit, formerly Faribault State Hospital.  Before you get to the terminus, there is a sign warning you not to bring drugs or weapons onto prison grounds.  Photo by Monte Castleman, taken April, 2002.

Northern Terminus

MN 298 shares a terminus at MN 60 with MN 299, which continues north to the State Academy for the Deaf.  Photo by Monte Castleman, taken April, 2002.
